My Little Gracie

Wow...I haven't posted in a while. (Not that much has happened.) We had some new neighbors move in across the street. One of them is a co-worker of Brian's (Jimmy) who is sharing his home with his girlfriend, Amanda. They are our age which is really great since everyone else in our neighborhood seems to have kids our age!!! The other people are an older couple who have VERY NOISY DOGS!!! Which made me reflect on what a wonderful little doggy I have.
Grace has come a long way in 2 years. So, I thought I'd share her before and after pictures with you. My mom and I were also reflecting on Grace being cancer free for quite some time now. She's everything anyone could ask for in a dog, and she is all MINE!!!! (Oh yeah...and Brian's too.) ; )
This is the picture of Grace that I saw on the Brazos Valley Golden Retriever Adoption page back in November 2003. I knew this was my baby before I even met her. And Grace must have known I was going to be her forever mommy. When she was brought to our apartment she ran straight to our door without her foster mom even knowing it really was our apartment.
Grace had multiple mammory cancer tumors over the period of a year and a half. We went through many expensive surgeries with the wonderful Dr. Nieuwoudt at the helm. (Grace was his favorite...at one time she had internal bleeding and he stayed up with her until 1 a.m. many nights until she fully recovered.) This is a picture of me sleeping on the couch with my little surgery patient to make sure she has everything she needs.
My beautiful Grace. Finally in her own home where she can be lazy, free of puppies, and enjoy time with her mommy and daddy...forever. : )
