Notre Dame Cathedral is a beautiful church that was started in about 1160. It is beautiful French Gothic architecture. The inside is dark due to every window being stained glass, but the stained glass shines so brilliantly. We went to mass there on Sunday morning. It was a Gregorian Chant mass. That was really neat to hear, and the organ resonates amazingly in the acoustics of the cathedral. They have two organs, one being the largest one in all of France. That was the one they played during mass. Going to my church will seem so mundane now.A close up of a portion of the northern rose window.

This is a wide shot of the northern rose window. The only original rose window still there. These windows show the bible pictorally. There are three of them...north, south, and west.

The organ almost looks as tremendous as it sounds!!!

The ceiling was so high and the masonry extroardinary. All of the archways and little chapels along the side...it actually takes your breath away.
