15 Month Gabriel Stats
Yesterday Gabriel went to the pediatrician for his 15 month wellness check up. Can you believe he is 15 months old? And in only 3 short months will be a big brother???? He's still my baby!!!
Height: 32.5"
Weight: 23.5 lbs.
So he is tall and skinny, but very healthy. He is definitely starting to form some strong opinions about his dinner. The dr. said to feed him what I knew he liked and offer him a little of what we're having to see if he likes other things as well. She said this will only last about a year or so.
She was also amazed at his vocabulary, but was not surprised when I told her that he only uses each word (except Mom & Dad Dad) once or twice before discontinuing use. She said he was going to be a collector of words. That he will let us know that he knows them and then stop using the word(s). She said he will then explode with language probably at about 2 - 2 1/2 years of age and will probably be more proficient than most of his peers. While that's exciting to hear, it does leave me frustrated at times because he won't tell me what he wants with words and there's a lot of pointing, babbling, crying, and tantrums. My plan is to stay even keel. Don't let it get to me. He's not starving or dying of thirst so he'll be fine. lol
She was also thrilled with his physical development...walking steadily, running, and climbing. Another reason that he's not so big on the words right now. Moving is just too darn exciting.
He was a real trooper getting his 4 shots. Yes, 4. So, we went to Barnes & Noble to play with the trains, climb the stage, and get some fun books. :) He doesn't go back for his own wellness appointments until 2 years of age, although I know he'll be disappointed when he has to go back for Lorelai's appointments. Just when he thought he was home free. Poor guy!
