An eventful weekend
Well, this has been an "eventful" weekend of sorts. Brian has been experiencing some pain for a week and a half now but we had chalked it up to work being exceptionally stressful and him doing a lot of work on the baby room on the weekend. Well, this weekend the pain got worse. So, he went to the ER. They diagnosed him with 5 Kidney Stones. One larger one on the left side and 4 smaller ones on the right side. The ER told him to follow up with a dr. on Monday. So, Monday came around and Brian finally found a urologist who could fit him in. Turns out the larger stone wasn't moving at all and he needed a surgery to break it up to help it pass.
So, Monday I afternoon I drive Brian to the local surgery center and they use sound waves to blast the Kidney Stone into small pieces. They did have to put him under for the procedure, but luckily he didn't also need a stent. I kept Gabriel occupied at home, and frankly I must say I'm exhausted. Between pregnancy and lack of sleep from a partying Lorelai, working on Lorelai's room, taking care of Gabriel who is getting molars right now (leaving him feverish some days, diarrhea, and really cranky), and then a husband having "surgery" I am plum worn out. I need a vacation. A vacation where I get to read and watch movies and sit down or lay down as I wish.
Anywho...enough complaining about me. Brian is finally passing some stones although not much and he will have a follow up with his dr. on July 12. We need to find out what kind of Kidney Stones they are (did you know there are 5 kinds?) and we also need to know if the stone completely passed. Fun stuff right? Luckily the hurricane seems to be moving away from our direction (not that I want it to hit anyone). So, that's one nice thing. Just pray that we are hurricane free the closer we get to Lorelai's arrival.
On the fun side of the weekend Gabriel got a little more into finger painting than he used to:
