Imagination Movers Concert - Happy Birthday, Gabriel!!!
Yesterday Brian and I took Gabriel to see his favorite musical group/TV show the Imagination Movers in Houston. :) It was an early birthday present for him. While Gabriel's enthusiasm in public is very subdued he seemed to enjoy himself. He got one of those flashing light wands and a t-shirt for souvenirs and then we went in to the show. The show opened with Choo-Choo Soul whom you know if you have a little one who likes to watch the Disney Channel. Gabriel isn't a big fan of theirs, but I enjoyed watching D.C. (the train engineer/DJ/dancer) break dance. He is one talented guy!
He spent most of the show sucking his thumb taking it all in. But, he would point at things and say "Wow!"
He was so happy when the Imagination Movers came out. You could tell he was trying to figure out how they were in front of him in real life when he'd only seen them on the TV. Here is Mommy and Gabriel dancing together.
Three of the four Imagination Movers...Dave on the left in the red cap, Scott in the middle, and Rich on the right. Smitty is off to the right not in the picture.
In good Disney form the Imagination Movers came out into the audience. Here is Rich. It looks really empty but in front of us it was packed. Oddly it says it was sold out. So the vacant chairs were planned? Who knows.
At one point all four Movers came out into the audience. Dave did get a glimpse of Gabriel and smiled and waved to him.
Here is Dave out in the audience. He is the "inventor" of the group and can pull useful items for problem solving out of his magic red cap. (Think Mary Poppins bag.)
Friends of the Movers also stopped by. Nina, Wearhouse Mouse, and Eddie the Monster were all there. Gabriel is a big fan of Wearhouse mouse and Eddie the Monster.
At the end Choo-Choo Soul joined the Movers, Nina, and Wearhouse Mouse on stage. There were neat white lights that Gabriel enjoyed and confetti and streamers shot out of cannons. SO FUN!!!
You could tell the Movers really loved the kids and enjoyed entertaining them. They even played a little of music that only the grown-ups would "get" but was age appropriate (or made to be age appropriate) for the target audience (Black Eyed Peas and U2).
We all had a really great time. Lorelai had a fun time at home with her Grandparents, and I know Gabriel appreciated the one-on-one time with Mommy and Daddy. :) We did too.
