First Art Lesson & Learning it's Okay to Get Messy

Lorelai had her first experience with art today.  :)  She had all kinds of fun smearing that finger paint around on the paper, and on her legs, and her dress...you get the picture.  But, she was little Miss No Fear.

I had actually set Gabriel up at the little table to do watercolors.  But, when he saw how much fun Lorelai was having he wanted to give finger painting a go.  Those of you who read frequently will remember that Gabriel HATES having messy hands.
There were many "Oh no's" said at first as he smeared it around on his hands trying to wipe it off, but eventually he got over it.  (Pretty much.)  I was quite surprised.  He used his finger tips mostly and asked to have his hands wiped off quite often.  (And by asked I mean waving his hands around flinging paint all over the room saying "Oh no.")
Lorelai felt that all surfaces needed some paint.

And of course it was necessary to spread the paint as far as possible.  After all...all good artists know how to extend the use of their paint.
And apparently she's not above taste testing her art as well.  Don't worry...it's nontoxic.  Thank you, Crayola.
See...he did some good smearing.  I really was very proud of him.  This is a HUGE step.
 And he's so proud.
Later, Gabriel continued his art lesson by learning how to look through the view finder of my camera and to press the picture button.  I mostly did the snapping, but he was looking the whole time through the view finder.  He did a pretty good job!  (Although there were many pictures of the carpet.)
And here is the Buzz hat.  Because what little Buzz loving boy doesn't need to wear a Buzz Lightyear hat I ask you?  Well, this one sure does.
