Baby Shower

On Saturday, January 24 my mother-in-law's wonderful friends threw me a baby shower!!! It was so much fun and we are really blessed to have so many wonderful family and friends that want to celebrate with us. I can't wait to introduce Gabriel to all of them. :)

My mom came all of the way from New Jersey for the shower. We had a great time visiting...our last chance for it to be just the two of us for a while. We also celebrated mom's birthday, which is today (Happy birthday, Mom!), with some shopping and good Mexican food.
Yummy...petit fours! And they have little blue baby booties on them! Too cute!!!

The food was great, and surprisingly my blood sugar reacted pretty well also. I didn't hold back...after all, it was my shower. We had a great time visiting during the luncheon portion, and what a beautiful table! Janis set out her daughter, Lindsay's, old Peter Rabbit china. It was wonderful because I have the same china that my parents got me in London when I was little. Janis & Frank gave us a little Peter Rabbit cup for a baby gift...now Gabriel has one that matches his mommy's!!!!! :)
Everyone was so generous with their gifts! We are definitely ready for a little one to join us now. Thank you everyone for your generosity. We love all of you!!!Two of my most wonderful girl-friends were able to join in the fun. Marissa came down from Hondo (isn't she looking great?!) and Brooke popped over from around the corner. :) They were wonderful helpers as I opened the gifts. Brooke got Gabriel a Sophie!!!!!!!!!

Marissa's gift had absolutely adorable packaging! There were all kinds of goodies in the diaper basket. Including (just to mention a few) a "Howdy, Reveille" book, pacifiers with Gabe's name on them, and a St. Patrick's Winnie the Pooh toy. (She thinks Gabe will arrive sooner than Kase and therefore will be here before St. Patrick's Day.)

Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Champion couldn't make it, but they sent lovely gifts including this pewter cup with Gabriel's name on it.

Brian's cousin, Jessica, painted this adorable frog painting for Gabriel's room. We absolutely love it!!! Definitely from the heart, and what talent she has! I can't wait to get it up in the room. I'm torn between two spots right now. I will post pictures of it when it's up.

Of course we had to get a belly shot before the party was over. We've come a long way since the picture we took in October. :) Now it's a race to the finish. lol I really am so happy that I got to celebrate with Marissa though. We don't see each other nearly enough, and I know it will only get harder now! Thanks again everyone for a wonderful day!
