Dr. Wilson Visit

Yesterday Brian, Gabriel, and I had our appointment with Dr. Wilson.  She confirmed that everything looked fine!  (Huge sense of relief!)

We also discussed my Gestational Diabetes.  She said that if I could keep my levels under control that it was as if I didn't have it at all and he could definitely go the full 40 weeks.  She said more than delivering early was the increased possibility of needing to have a C-Section.  She didn't say I would have a C-Section, just that I am at a higher risk for needing one if he is above average size.

The GD diet is not bad at all.  If anything it is too much food for my tiny little tummy.  I have never been one to eat huge amounts of food.  It's all about eating the right portions of each food group.  The class was very educational and it's really all about healthy living rather than having diabetes.  I learned a lot that I think everyone should know...in a sort of weird way I'm kind of glad that this happened so I could learn the proper way to feed and take care of my family!  (And yes, I can have dessert, although in limited amounts.  I will be happy to be able to indulge a little bit more once Gabriel comes.  I'm already making my list of foods I want after he arrives.  lol)

So, now I just have to be diligent about my diet so that Gabriel doesn't need to come early.  Otherwise we get into a whole mess of having a baby while Brian is doing his big turnaround at work!
