At the Beach

This week I took Gabriel to the beach for an afternoon of fun.  He was a little nervous at first.  After all the beach is very loud and there's water coming at you.  But, after having some fun with his toys in the sand, we went exploring for seashells, which led him closer to the water.  He finally realized that the shallow water was like a giant puddle so he had fun stomping his feet in the water for a while, but when the waves would go out it covered his feet in sand giving him a sinking feeling.  Not to be deterred he motioned for me to pick him up, and then pointed out into the water.  So, we went about knee deep (for mommy) and as waves would come at us I would jump and say "EEEE!!!"  He thought this was hilarious.  We did that for a good 15 minutes or so until mommy got tired and also had waaaay to much pressure on her bladder from little Lorelai and a heavy Gabriel.  I'm glad he finally warmed up to it.  Hopefully we'll get back a time or two before Lorelai is born.

Sorry for the poor photo quality.  I was using Brian's point and shoot which I'm not that familiar with and I was trying not to take my eyes off of him while using the camera.  So, I didn't switch it to beach mode.
