PreK Pumpkin Patch Field Trip - 2015
This week it was Lorelai's turn for a Pumpkin Patch field trip. We headed to the Parkhurst Ranch in Arcadia and had a lovely time. We were the only school in attendance so the kids had free reign which was fantastic. We first spent some time in the little petting zoo.
They had goats, a donkey, geese, ducks, pigs, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, ponies and an alpaca. Lorelai wasn't very into the idea of feeding or petting the animals, but she enjoyed watching them do their thing. The geese were a great source of amusement running around honking at everyone.
Then we went on a hayride with the class, but due to close quarters I only have a closeup shot of Lorelai in which you can't possibly tell that we're on a hay ride. Oh well...she's super cute with or without hay.
After the hayride the kids played in a giant fort and before we knew it it was time to leave. Lorelai picked out our free pumpkins and decided she'd rather spend the day with mom running errands than head back to school. We headed to Hobby Lobby where she picked out some colors for her costume so I finally have the supplies in hand. Now it's just time to get to work!
Kindergarten Pumpkin Patch Field Trip - 2015
Last Thursday Gabriel's Kindergarten class went to Chester's Pumpkin Patch for their field trip. This was our second time there and I'm not sure if he was as into it this time as he was last time, but he enjoyed some new experiences which made it fun.
This time he had a chance to feed the outdoor animals. The turkeys seemed to be his favorite.
He also enjoyed the corn maze this time. The corn was a good height this year...tall enough that the kids couldn't see over it, but short enough that the parents and teachers could so we didn't lose anyone. Gabriel chose to head in a different direction than the rest of the class so he could go exploring.
Rather than ride the ponies this time Gabriel, and a couple of classmates, chose to climb a tree while they waited for the rest of the class. This was one of my favorite things to do in my backyard growing up so I was glad that we finally found a tree that he could have a go at it. He LOVED it!!! I mean...look at this face:
That is one happy kid!
